Lived in Cusco for 6 months. This is the best Peruvian good I've found in NC! It's all in the sauce. Stellar job.

I arrived just 10 minutes before they were closing the kitchen. The gentleman who took my order was kind enough to allow me to dine inside. (This is a big deal being a lone traveler from out of state during covid) He was excellent. Definitely had that southern hospitality with that Latin flare. Definitely "de lo mio" My friend suggested I check this place out and get their Steak Lomo Saltado. Listen... WOW! Literally the most delicious food I've had here in North Carolina. If you're ever in the area, grabbing a bite to eat here is NECESSARY. You need to try it. And if you can handle a flavorful slap across the face, you MUST order this with the Yellow Curry Sauce. It's so good, I'm going to order another plate to go to take for my drive back to Massachusetts. Yes, it's that good.

My opinion is strictly based on the food because of the current restrictions keeping us out of the dining experience. I haven't had really good Peruvian food in many years. This one took me way back, when I was a kid eating at my Peruvian friend's family's house. His mom was an AMAZING cook and made things I’d never heard of but they all blew me away. This place was that. I loved it and will be back. If you go, get the Chaufa (it's their version of fried rice). I've tried it at many Peruvian places to recapture what my friend's mom used to do and they have all failed until now. Their soup was phenomenal. I gave one taste to my daughter and when she tasted it she claimed the rest, lol. We will be back.

Our History

Mi Peru’s mission is to provide an experience that revolves around high quality, homemade like, authentic Peruvian cuisine. If you have been to Peru, you will love Mi Peru's food; If you have not, you will feel like you have. Mi Peru is the second phase of a project that started more than two decades ago back in Peru, and after being on hold for a few years, it continues in North Carolina today. Not long ago, the owners would cook at home and invite friends over. These friends would continuously encourage them to share their passion for Peruvian food with a broader audience in our community and this is how Mi Peru came to be. We bring the passion and knowledge of what embodies Peruvian cuisine, using Peruvian condiments, spices, and cooking techniques. It is the amalgamation of those and our commitment to quality that we are proud to bring to our customers.
